The terms the book is kept under: what The Tin Whistle publishes, what it does not, and the plain rules about sources, corrections and contact.
The Tin Whistle is a reader's publication. Its pages are notes on a craft, written for general reading, and they are not professional advice, safety instruction, or a recommendation of any performer, supplier or method.
Sources and honesty
Each note is checked against the public record before it takes its number: council guidance, safety documents, trade-body pages and published accounts of the craft. Sources are named at the foot of every note. Where the record stops, the note says so rather than guessing. Nothing here is invented to fill a gap, and no statistic is given without its source.
Corrections
A note that is wrong gets fixed, and the fix is stamped. If you hold the record that corrects a page, write to [email protected] and it will be checked.
What this site is not
It is not the site that previously stood at this address, and it speaks for no former owner. It takes no bookings, sells nothing, runs no advertising, and recommends no act. Links to other sites in the book are reading suggestions, not endorsements or paid placements.
Images and text
The photographs in the book are made for it and belong to it. The text may be quoted briefly with a link and the name of the page, the way a programme gets quoted in a review. For anything more, write first.
